In every juvenile court case involving an abused or neglected foster child, the court appoints a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer to advocate for that child. The CASA ensures that all relevant information is brought before the court so the judge can make a sound decision about that child's future. CASA volunteers make a lasting impact on our community and our children. Our goal is for every child to have a safe, permanent home. CASA is a non-profit United Way agency and currently needs volunteers to advocate for foster children in Klamath County.

Summary of Services:

Three male and three female beds are available for youths to stay up to two weeks.
Program staff help to reunite runaway and at-risk youths with their families by
providing a neutral-ground shelter while family problems are assessed and
referrals are made to other resources to address those problems. Youths that
have no viable family or home available may be assisted with placement in an
appropriate host home in IYS' residential services system or referred to other,
more appropriate shelter resources. If youths have no health insurance resources,
staff may assist them with obtaining an Oregon Health Plan card if they qualify.
Shelter services include assessments,family mediations, an after-hours family
intervention hotline, clothing for residents,educational assistance (through IYS'
Homeless Education program), recreational activities, bus tokens for out-of-
school-district residents, a resource library of literature, books, computer
programs and videos to address at-risk issues,and referrals for other services.

To Enroll in GED, ABE or ESL classes

· Students under 18 must be referred by a high school counselor, adults are welcome to walk in at any time.

· Students must attend an initial registration in Building #1. No appointment is necessary.
Drop-in hours are Monday - Thursday 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
Students must arrive by 6 p.m. to be admitted for last round of testing.

· Following registration, students must attend a Friday orientation.

· Students can begin classes the Monday following their orientation.


To begin GED testing

· Official GED testing registration is held from 4 p.m.-5 p.m. on Thursdays.

· Registration is by appointment only. To register please call us at 883-4719.

· Students must have a government issued picture ID to register for and take the GED tests.
